Fabian Edwards on PFL Championship Foe Dalton Rosta: 'He’s a Bitch'

Fabian Edwards entered the 2025 PFL Middleweight Tournament as a favorite to win it all, and he lived up to that billing through the first two rounds.

After securing a second-round finish against former PFL light heavyweight champion Impa Kasanganay in the first round and a unanimous decision win over Josh Silveira in the semifinals, Edwards is now slated to face Dalton Rosta in the tournament championship.

When he got off to a slow start against Silveira, Edwards was on the receiving end of a harsh talking to from his coaching team, which includes his brother, former UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards. After that conversation, Edwards appeared to turn up the heat in his performance and had a clear victory in the bag thanks to his second and third round performances.

When discussing the motivation from his team, Edwards said they delivered the kick in the rear that he needed.

“They just gave me a kick up the ass,” Edwards told media following his PFL World Tournament 7 victory. “They were telling me that I needed to make adjustments, that’s what they were shouting at me. That’s what they’re there for — it’s a team that I trust, it’s a team that helped me get the job done. Without those guys, who knows what happens.”

While there was already tension building in their first faceoff, Edwards is not looking to make too much of his upcoming matchup with Rosta. He is confident in his skillset when they meet inside the SmartCage on Aug. 21.

“He’s a bitch, that’s it really,” Edwards said. “He’s just acting for the sake of acting. He knows a five-round fight best suits me. That fight against Jeffery, he lost, but the judges gave it to him. In a five-round fight, I don’t see him making it for all five rounds.”

Edwards: PFL Championship Would Solidify Me as One of World’s Best

Edwards believes winning the tournament championship would be an emphatic statement for him.

“Winning the championship would mean a lot,” he said. “It would solidify and show that I’m one of the best in the world. I’ve always believed that I was one of the best in the world, and it would mean a lot to be able to bring that belt back to the UK and show to the world and my team that I’m one of the best.”
